Announcing: Organization Design Forum's 2010 Pre-Conference Workshops!

HolacracyTM: A Horizon III Approach to Organization Design
The HolacracyTM system is a transformative organization design approach that has been deployed in small and medium size organizations. It is built on the solid foundation of lean manufacturing, agile software development, and sound human dynamic principles. Anyone looking for what is cutting edge in this area of organization design will want to experience this full day session. Using the Mckinsey Consulting Company "Horizon 3" model as a lens on design methodology, Holacracy is clearly "Level 3" because of its revolutionary approach to deploying organizational design. This comprehensive "practice" for governing and running organizations can be deployed quickly. It is a new organizational "operating system" that has unique governance and operating structures that allow for "just-in-time" response to organizational or market conditions. You will not find a "Star Model" here, but rather "Integrative Decision Making" and the principles such as "Dynamic Steering" and "Double Linking" which accelerate effective response to the presenting issues facing the organization internally or in its environment.

Holacracy (www.holacracy.org) integrates collective wisdom from throughout a company providing better decision-making and simultaneously gives everyone voice. Come to this session and meet Brian Robertson, an experienced CEO who pioneered many of Holacracy's methods hands-on while leading real-world organizations, and who is deploying this ground breaking approach internationally.

The Strategic and Systems Thinking Approach to Organization Design
Stephen Haines is well known for his work in the field of systems thinking. Join him and other participants as he presents a blend of ideas and practice on the strategic and systems thinking approach to organization design.

As a participant in this workshop you will:
  • Build an understanding of the five research-based concepts of systems thinking
  • Learn the universal application of strategic and systems thinking to organization design
  • Learn the universal application of strategic and systems thinking to change in all aspects of work and life
